My Journey

My name is Temiloluwa Alagbe and I am 21 years old. I aspire to be a journalist concentrating on fine arts and an author. My interests include undergraduate research, literature, journalism, fine arts, and film.

I attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I double major in Media and Journalism and English and Comparative Literature. I am also an alumna of the Miami Dade Honors College with an Associate of Arts in English Literature/Education.

During my time at the Honors College, I served as an Editor and Secretary for the AXIS Creative Arts Magazine, a student-run publication that shares art, photography, writing, and other creative forms of expression from students at the North Campus. Some of my poetry was featured in Volume 21, including “Questions Asked When Cooking” and “Storm Chasers.”

I started by journalistic pursuits by writing for The Reporter, MDC’s student newspaper. By July 2024, I published fifteen articles mainly included social, cultural, and lifestyle commentary regarding current topics I took interest in researching.

As a student at UNC Chapel Hill, I continued student journalism by working as a Lifestyle Reporter for The Daily Tar Heel Newspaper, publishing thirteen articles my first year.
